Cynthia Bolton Smith, Allied ASID
CEO & Principal Interior Designer
Cynthia Bolton Smith is an award-winning luxury interior designer and CEO of CCS Interior Design Group, based in Chicago. She holds a BFA in Interior Design from the International Academy of Design & Technology, and made history as the first African American interior designer to serve as president of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), Illinois Chapter.
Her journey began when she graduated from the University of Illinois Chicago, with a B.A. in Kinesiology. However, following the tragic loss of her son, she decided to embrace her true passion for interior design. She returned to school to obtain a degree in interior design and subsequently established her own business after completing her studies.
Now, as a Merchandise Mart's brand ambassador, Cynthia collaborates with top companies such as Monogram, CAI Design, Artistic Tile, Sherwin Williams, Pinder, Dacor, Miele, The Shade Store, Ann Sacks, House of Rohl and Baker Furniture. Her expertise has earned accolades like the Outstanding Emerging Business Achievement Award and the Emerging Designer To Watch title.




Cynthia's Style & Approach
With a profound understanding of her clients and creative flair, she consistently creates impactful interior design transformations. Her unique approach, combining modern and traditional elements, has been showcased in numerous prominent design publications.
Cynthia Bolton Smith's distinctive style weave through her work and daily life. As a motorcycle enthusiast and travel adventurer, she enriches her interior design work by broadening her perspective and exposing clients to new styles and ideas.


She also actively participates in the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID-IL) and has held the position of Neocon Committee Chair. She is deeply committed to her involvement in community services and volunteering for ASID National - ASID Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI).
Beyond her professional achievements, Cynthia actively volunteers at charities like Design 4 Dignity, Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS, and Make-A-Wish, showcasing her compassion and dedication to helping others.
Family is also important. With over 20 years of marriage, she is a proud parent and grandparent, boasting two grown children and two grandchildren.
And, of course, there's Bella, her beloved dog who rules the roost at home and even holds court at CCS Interior Design Group!

Kasee Smith
JUNIOR Designer
Indiana-born Kasee, with her creative flair and practical expertise, is a force to be reckoned with in the world of interior design. As a skilled designer, she holds a Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design and has experience in both commercial and residential projects.
Before making her mark in design, Kasee served as a military veteran from 2003-2007 and honed her artistic skills as a makeup artist for prestigious brands like MAC Cosmetics and Bobbi Brown, collaborating with fashion photographers.
Kasee spent six-year overseas in Kuwait and Dubai, which exposed her to diverse cultures and places, enriching her design inspirations. Now based in Chicago for the past decade, her creativity thrives in crafting art, concepts, and ideas. Kasee stays at the forefront of the design world by attending tradeshows and studying emerging trends in her field.
A vegan food enthusiast, Kasee is passionate about holistic living. Her love for cooking and gardening is only matched by her dedication to maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Adding more joy to her life is Nahla, her adorable four-year-old tuxedo cat, who can always make Kasee smile.
